Any item that is important for a course may be put on Course Reserves by an instructor. Students can visit any library help desk and borrow any item on Course Reserves.
Finding Course Reserves Materials and Textbooks
Finding Course Reserves materials and textbooks is easy. You can do it in two ways:
- Look up your course number, instructor, or textbook in the Course Reserves box in Search It (Check our "Finding Your Textbook" FAQs to learn how to use Search It to find Course Reserves materials.)
- Ask a Librarian to look up your textbook.

What can be added to Course Reserves?
Library-owned and personal material can be added. Find a list of the courses for which we need textbooks. Learn more about this initiative and the courses for which we need textbooks at the Textbook Affordability Program.
A K-State ID or their KSIS profile is required to check out
Only 2 reserves items may be checked out at a time and you are responsible for knowing the date and time each item is due
Materials must be returned to the same desk from which they were checked out
Course Reserves materials returned to book drops are not counted as returned until the following day
When the library is closed, fines will continue to accumulate until the library re-opens
* Reserves items are nonrenewable regardless of the loan period.

Due dates and times are strictly enforced to ensure the greatest number of students have access to Course Reserves items.
Important note - Patrons with overdue or lost reserve items will be unable to check out new materials again until their overdue or lost items are returned.
