Nettie May Wismer

Nettie Wismer, ca 1919 Nettie May Wismer graduated from Kansas State Agricultural College with a Bachelor's degree in general science in 1919. She received her Master's degree in Zoology from KSAC in 1925 and taught school in Lawrence, KS for a number of years before retiring in 1957.

Nettie May Wismer's memory book and thesis were donated by her niece. The memory book covers the time frame from September 1915 to June 1919 and contains approximately 231 photographs. People identified in the collection are: Myra Scott, Nellie Payne, Amanda Rosenquist, Lydia Rogers, Frances Casto, Marjorie Berger, Dolly White, Ruth Huff, Jean Baker, Miss Holman, Minnie Norlin, Grace Lyness, Florence Weinstein, and Arthur Swanson. Special events identified in the collection are: May Fete, 1916-1919; Dance on the Green, 1918; Senior Breakfast, 1918; Thanksgiving, 1918; Senior Sneak Day; and Graduation. The memory book also contains ribbons, invitations, newspaper clippings, cards and programs. Her thesis is entitled: Some Results Obtained in Inbreeding Anguillula Aceti (EHRB) submitted in 1925 to the Department of Zoology.
