Minnie M. (Howell) Champe (1878-1948)

Minnie M. Howell graduated from Kansas State College with a Bachelor's degree in Domestic Science in 1901, the first black woman to graduate from Kansas State College. She taught school in Topeka and Manhattan, KS, and Virginia. In 1913, she taught Domestic Science and Art at Sumner High School in Kansas City. Champe died on June 22, 1948.
