Agnes Mertina Bane

Agnes Bane Agnes Mertina Bane was born 08 Sep 1907 in Lafayette, KS, the daughter of Dewitt Clinton and Emily Louisa (Wells) Bane. She earned a Bachelor's degree in Home Economics from Kansas State Agricultural College in 1929. She was extremely active during her college days, being a member of the Alpha Xi Delta sorority, the Mortar Board, the YWCA, secretary-treasurer of Prix, member of the Women's Athletic Association, the hockey and track teams, President of the Purple Pepsters her junior year and President of Kappa Beta her senior year.

Agnes Bane's memory book covers the years from 1925-1928 and consists of programs, photographs, newsletters and memorabilia from Alpha Xi Delta, Alpha Theta Chi, Bethany Circle, YWCA, WAA, Triangles Circle Guild, Prix, Kappa Beta, and the Christian Church. It highlights campus events of the day: Recognition Day, 1928; Play Day, 1928; Sorority Rush Week, 1925-1928; National Kappa Beta Conference, 1928; and Sousa and His Band, 1928. This memory book is housed in the scrapbook collection.
