The AMA is the largest and most prominent association for marketing professionals. This site outlines AMA's resources. Users can examine announcements, classifieds, professional development programs, and the association's various publications. Members can access an online database of marketing topics. "What drives marketing people." Full of articles about and interviews with marketers. Useful for the background information about marketing products.

Sales and Marketing Executives International
The Resources link features thousands of articles in categories such as database marketing, media and promotion. Resources also houses scores of links to marketing-oriented journals, organizations and academic Web sites, plus an audio collection of speeches from a variety of executives. Non-members have access to most resources for 30 days or 3-4 accesses before being locked-out.

This is the support site for the paper-based Advertising Age magazine. It's a great site to visit when you are thinking about creating advertising online or offline. Advertising Media Internet Center (AMIC)
Links to a variety of good articles in areas such as Web site advertising, the latest news and gossip, and links to organizations such as the Advertising Research Foundation and the Community Action Network. Has many offerings in a variety of areas and good connections to organizations. Users must fill-out free registration to access some of the articles and data. Look to the Ad Data page for advertising and marketing statistics.

Advertising World
Probably one of the most comprehensive advertising websites. The University of Texas at Austin's Advertising Department has pulled together an incredible number of advertising related links and provided at least a one sentence summary for each.

AdWeek Online
AdWeek Online looks at the world of advertising and marketing, with daily headlines and a selection of weekly features from the AdWeek, Brandweek and Mediaweek magazines. Sections of particular interest include IQ Interactive, which has a wealth of news, interviews and in-depth features for online marketers; Creative Coverage, which offers critiques of ad campaigns and a "best spots of the month" feature; and Culture Trends, which charts U.S. box-office grosses, European music sales and other statistics.

Duke University created this award-winning website based upon its John W. Hartman Center for Sales, Advertising and Marketing History. Collections include: ephemera, broadsides, advertising cookbooks, and Kodakiana.

Agricultural Marketing Service
The Agricultural Marketing Service includes six commodity divisions--Cotton, Dairy, Fruit and Vegetable, Livestock and Seed, Poultry, and Tobacco. Website has in-depth information on each of the divisions to include current trends, publications, history, research, rule making, etc.

AgriMarketing
AgriMarketing is the online version of the print journal of the same title. The website offers monthly research reports, a farm show guide, state fair guide, and Ag agency listings. Links to resources within the site appear to be ads along the sides of the screen. Read these closely to locate information.

FAO Agricultural Marketing
Site produced by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations. Geared primarily towards developing nations and emerging markets, the FAO works to increase private sector involvement in the marketing of agriculture.

Corporate membership in this organization allows you to have access to a number of industry studies. Besides publishing reports, the organization also sponsors conferences allowing professionals to find more about the industry through one another.

Electronic Retailing Association
ERA is the trade association for companies who use the power of electronics to sell goods and services to the public. The purpose of ERA is to foster the growth, development and acceptance of the rapidly growing electronic retailing industry worldwide.

Internet Advertising Bureau
As a non-profit organization, the Internet Advertising Bureau (IAB) is finding ways to enhance and expand online global advertising. The site has news, research done by the organization, and bits of information on this new industry.

Marketing Educator's Association
The purpose of the MEA is to promote the development and sharing of scholarship, which enhances marketing education. Association website has direct link to the Journal of Marketing Education which lists the titles of articles published by the journal between 1995-2000.

Marketing Management Association
The purpose of MMA is to provide a structure, to group together marketers, and to promote professional activity in the field of marketing. MMA will sponsor an on-line journal, Journal of Advancement of Marketing Education, which will feature articles on teaching, research and service as related to marketing professorial positions. The sole purpose of the journal is to provide an information base that will aid marketing professors in building their careers.

Marketing Research Association
MRA's goal is to preserve and hone the skills of the marketing community. The MRA site provides many of the tools for its members to achieve this goal. Packed with news, legal documentation, and other relevant information the group maintains a useful presence on the web.

Promotional Products Association International
Promotional Products Association is "a non-profit trade association representing the Promotional Products Industry." Resources on the site include case studies, research and statistics.

Sales and Marketing Executives International
This site for sales and marketing executives includes a sales and marketing online discussion group, a marketing resource section including articles written by SMEI members, and links to such sales and marketing resources as online news, directories, and other professional organizations. Membership also is available online.

Society for Consumer Psychology
The Society represents the interests of behavioral scientists in the fields of psychology, marketing, advertising, communication, consumer behavior, and other related areas. Some members of the Society are mainly interested in generating applied knowledge to solve specific marketing related problems, while others focus on generating basic knowledge to contribute to theoretical and conceptual foundations of consumer psychology. Social Marketing Institute

Billed as one-stop shopping for federal statistics this federal government site offers access to a wide range of statistics produced by more than 70 federal government agencies. Coverage is broad and may be valuable for many research topics. Includes easy to use search feature.

U.S. Census Bureau
Maintained by the U.S. Department of Congress, Census.gov is the official site for all economic, social and demographic information. The site offers statistical data for general use. It also offers several off-the-shelf products for customers who are interested in purchasing predefined published reports, tables, studies and special reports.

Consumer Expenditure Surveys
