About the position

The student specialist assists the Academic Services Department and specifically the University Experience Team with instruction and outreach activities targeted to undergraduate students, events, and learning experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for K-State and/or a love of libraries. Must be able to commit to a minimum of 12 hours with some expectations for evening and weekend hours as needed for special events.

Description of Duties

  • Staffing learning and outreach events, such as browsing fairs, where we have opportunities to inform the campus community about library services and resources
  • Assisting with the development of instructional materials for undergraduate students
  • Assisting with face-to-face and recorded class sessions
  • Testing instructional materials for usability
  • Analyzing event and instructional feedback using spreadsheets and other data representation tools
  • Other duties as assigned, including
    • Researching and collecting instruction and outreach-related materials for adaptation at K-State Libraries

  • Proficiency with basic PC software

The applicant will work 12-20 hours each week, including summer (with June availability preferred).
