Prior to joining K‐State, she served as a user experience intern and volunteered on several outreach projects for the emerging technologies and services department at Oregon State University Libraries. Through the Peace Corps she taught secondary science in Tanzania then served as Peace Corps Tanzania’s malaria coordinator working with Johns Hopkins Center for Communication Programs to train and empower American volunteers and local community health workers to design and execute initiatives for the effective prevention and treatment of malaria in their communities.
In 2008‐2009 she worked with diverse populations on a variety of projects at the Science Museum of Minnesota, South Minneapolis Workforce Center, and Cycles for Change in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.
