There is an immediate opening for a Student Assistant II to work in the General Reference Department.  We desire candidates who are able to work 15 hours per week between 5pm to 10pm Sunday through Thursday and an occasional Saturday (9am to 1pm or 1pm to 5pm) or Sunday (1pm to 5pm) shift. Candidates should possess attention to detail, excellent interpersonal skills, organizational skills, customer service skills, and be responsible individuals. Preference will be given to candidates who can work at least two hour blocks at a time and work school breaks.

Duties include:

• Greeting patrons with the Reference Generalists
• Answering directional and simple reference questions for patrons
• Discerning when a referral to a Reference Generalist is needed
• Performing daily activities involving collection maintenance and special projects
• Assisting Reference Generalists as back up desk employees
