Interlibrary Loan

Interlibrary Services supports the research and teaching needs of Kansas State University’s academic community by facilitating access to materials not held in our libraries, while also sharing our resources with other educational institutions.

Requests

You can submit interlibrary loan or document delivery requests by using your eID and password to access our Interlibrary Services system (ILLiad) or by clicking on the GetIt button within a database.

 Scanning:    
5-7 days for PDFs   2-5 days for PDFs (articles, etc.)

Limit 50 pages for articles and book chapters

(Not available for Reserves materials)

 

3-10 days for other material

*Distance patrons add additional 3-7 days for UPS delivery*

Limit 30 pages from microforms    

Limit 2 book chapters per book

   

*Shipping for distance patrons*

   

4-12 days for UPS delivery

   

Limits

Generally we cannot borrow:

  • ebooks or classroom textbooks
  • Reserves or References items
  • Special Collections materials

We will not process interlibrary loan requests if you have lost your library privileges due to overdue K-State Libraries’ materials.  Once you have returned overdue materials or paid for lost items, you may request interlibrary loans. 

Where to check out and return interlibrary loans

Interlibrary loans can be picked up at the Hale Library Help desk, Veterinary Medical Library Help desk, or K-State Salina Library. Check your ILLiad account under "Personal Info" to verify or change your preferred check out location.

Email or call us to have your loan sent from the Hale Library Help Desk to Weigel Architecture Library, Fiedler Engineering Library, or the Math/Physics Library for check out.  Allow at least one working day for delivery.

They can be returned at to any library help desk.
