Interlibrary
Services Request Form
How can you use K-State Libraries Interlibrary Services
(ILS) to obtain an item?
You must use your K-State eID & password to access this system and submit an Interlibrary Services Request Form. Contact the K-State IT Help Desk at (785) 532-7722 if you need assistance. Community patrons who have a valid KSU library card and need an eID should contact ILS at (785) 532-7440. You can then request an item if it meets one of the following requirements:
- K-State Libraries do not own the item or provide full-text electronic
access to it.
- It is an item that K-State Libraries' Online Catalog indicates is
currently at the bindery.
- It is an article to which the only access that K-State Libraries supplies
is electronic full-text without graphics, figures, or tables that
you need. If this is the case, provide the following
message in the ILS Request Form "Notes:" box - "Need graphics which
are omitted from full-text articles."
- It is not a current textbook.
Information For:
How much time will it take to obtain an ILS request?
Journal article requests typically take 2-5 calendar days and other
requests typically take 5-10 calendar days to arrive at Hale Library.
There are no guarantees that a request will be fulfilled. You will
be notified (by e-mail or phone, whichever you specify) whether or
not your request has been filled.
Media items (VHS, DVD, CD, etc.) may be requested, but are often difficult
to obtain.
How much will an ILS request cost?
If you have a current KSU ID, you will more than likely be able to
obtain your request for free. ILS will notify you before ordering
an item if there is a fee.
If you have a Non-University Library User card, you will be required
to pay all costs associated with obtaining your item. Using your local
public library may be a more desirable alternative.
