Library Disaster Plan

A Disaster Plan is located on the K-State Libraries Intranet. The Plan addresses public and building safety, as well as instructions on what to do to protect the collection in the event of a disaster.

Hard copies of the document have been placed in red notebooks located in staff areas of Hale Library, branch libraries, and the Annex (off-campus storage facility). Copies of the collection portion of the plan are also stored in the Disaster Bins.

DISASTER BINS are located in staff areas on each floor of Hale Library, Special Collections, Microforms, and in each of the Branch Libraries, as well as three bins in the Annex (Nich, OFB, Archives), our off-campus storage facility. The supplies would be used in the event of a minor problem (i.e., water leak). Supplies include rolls of plastic sheeting, protective gear for personnel, paper towels, caution tape, and other items that would be helpful to have on hand in dealing with such an emergency.
