The K-State Open Access Publishing Fund (KOAPF) supports the goal of making K-State research and scholarship immediately, freely and globally available. When support is not available from other sources, the KOAPF will assist K-State authors by paying reasonable article processing fees for publishing in open access journals and for a portion of paid access fees charged by other publishers.
This initiative is jointly funded through the Office of the Provost and Senior Vice President, Office of Research and Sponsored Programs and the K-State Libraries.
Applications that comply with the eligibility criteria (below) will be funded on a first-come, first-served basis.
No endorsement of any journal or of the research merit of any article is implied by this funding.
Support is only available for publishing charges related to providing free immediate access to this article. Levels of support are as follows:
- Open access articles (i.e., free immediate access and unrestricted non-commercial reuse): up to $3000 of cost.
- Hybrid journal articles (i.e., free immediate access, but K-State pays a subscription fee for the journal): up to $1500 of cost.
