Books: How many books do you have?
At the end of the 2011 fiscal year (June 30) the six libraries that comprise Kansas State University Libraries owned over 2.6 million volumes. According to our K-State Libraries Collections Current Summary Stats, "this number excludes microforms, maps, nonprint materials, and uncataloged items; includes cataloged gov docs and e-resources". The Current Summary Stats separates collection numbers for 2009, 2010 and 2011 into monographs (books) and serials (items that are published regularly), and also includes data for audio visual material, microform, government documents, and other formats. In addition, it contains statistics for reference transactions, gate count, book repairs numbers, circulation and presentation data.
