Empathy Week Mattress Vigil
Back to events list
EMPATHY WEEK is an opportunity to enter into the story of survivors and victims of sex-trafficking and make a difference! Empathy Week at Kansas State University takes place September 9-12 with the Tour, Mattress Vigil, and Experience Event.
The Mattress Vigil is an opportunity to understand this issue more deeply during Empathy Week by "Entering In" as close as we can in silent protest or reflection into the suffering of children who are being exploited. The mattress represents where girls and boys are first victimized at the average age of 12.
GROUP - Adopt a mattress with a minimum $250 fund-raising pledge and start your fund-raising campaignonline todayand raise funds all the way through Empathy Week.
INDIVIDUAL - Sign up for a 15 minute spot on a mattress and invite others to join your efforts by "rescuing" you off the mattress for a $10 gift.
