K-State Libraries is committed to preservation in creation, description, and storage of our digital objects.  Digital Preservation has been defined by the American Library Association (ALA) as "policies, strategies, and actions to ensure access to reformatted and born digital content regardless of the challenges of media failure and technological change. The goal of digital preservation is the accurate rendering of authenticated content over time." We believe that the preservation of and access to information, regardless of format, is essential to the research, teaching and extension missions of the land grant University.

For information on how you can preserve your digital files, visit the Preservation Week website from the ALCTS, a division of the American Library Association.
