Cornelia Butler Flora graduated from the University of California with a Bachelor's degree in 1965. She received her Master's degree in 1966 and her Ph.D. in 1970 from Cornell University. Flora joined the Women's Studies faculty at Kansas State University in 1970. The interaction of the structure of agriculture, agricultural values and community was the primary focus of the research she performed for the Kansas State Agricultural Experiment Station.
The Cornelia Flora Papers covers the years 1976-1989 and document her time as a member of the faculty at Kansas State University. The majority of the collection is composed of correspondence, 1976-1988. Other areas focus on Faculty Senate and the Board of Regents. Organizations in which Cornelia Flora had an interest are also reflected in the collection: KSU Child Care, the Crisis Center and the Latin American Student Association.
