Christopher Columbus Owens was born in Texas on 02 Oct 1902, the son of Mary (Lee) Owens. During the 1910 census, he and his widowed mother were living with her brother, John Lee and his wife. He was still living with his uncle John at the time of the 1920 census. He went to Prairie View College, last attending classes there in 1925.

On 14 Sep 1926, he entered K-State studying architectural engineering. He withdrew from school in Dec of 1926, citing a death in family as the reason.

He lived in the Phi Beta Sigma Chapter House, 1020 Colorado, while attending K-State. He married Arizona in 1928 and they were living in Detroit, Michigan, during the 1930 census. He was a salesman for tire changing equipment.

Christopher C. Owens died on 28 Mar 1996 in Multnomah, Clackamas, OR.
