Theodore Walstein Long was born on 25 Jul 1905 in Oklahoma, the only child of Benjamin and Amanda Long, though he had a half-sister, Hattie. He attended preparatory school at Colored Agricultural and Normal University in Guthrie, OK.
On 08 Sep 1924, he entered K-State studying electrical engineering. His permanent address was Tullahasee, OK. He attended for two years before withdrawing due to illness in Apr of 1926. There is a notation on his transcript indicating that he changed his major to general science in Jan of 1927, but he never returned to classes.
During his first year he lived at 800 Yuma, but moved to the Phi Beta Sigma Chapter House, 1020 Colorado, his next year.
Theodore W. Long is listed as being a porter in an automobile garage in Topeka, KS, during the 1930 census. However, he and his family are listed twice, in two different districts. All the data matches except for he and his wife's age at the time they married. He was 24 years old and married at either 19 or 21. His wife, Ada, was 25 and married at either 19 or 22. Their son Norman W. Long was born on 10 Feb 1926 in Kansas.
Nothing further is known about his life.
