
Audrey Byron Carter was born on 10 May 1899 in Kansas, the son of Hattie Carter. In 1905, Odrey Carter, age 6, lived in Eskridge, KS, with his mother and three older siblings, Rupert, Mamie and Hattie. He graduated from Eskridge High School, KS, in 1917 and attended Wilber Force University for a year.
Interestingly, his World War I draft registration indicates that he was a student at KSAC in Sep 1918, while his transcript indicates that he entered K-State on 06 Jun 1919, pursuing the general science course of study. He received advanced credit for several of the classes he took at Wilber Force University. He attended for two years, through the spring semester of 1921.
He lived at 618 Yuma his first year, before moving to the Phi Beta Sigma Chapter House, 1020 Colorado.
Audrey B. Carter died on 02 Feb 1990 in Memphis, TN. The record shows that his social security number was issued in 1956 in Tennessee.
