Howard Christopher Boydston

Howard Boydston, 1921

Howard Christopher Boydston was born on 13 Mar 1900 in Kansas, the son of George and Dora (Kern) Boydston. He graduated from Sterling High School before attending Cooper College for a time.

On 14 Sep 1920, he entered K-State, studying electrical engineering. He received advanced credit for several classes that he took at Cooper College. He was forced to withdraw from college in Feb of 1921 due to lack of funds. He managed to return in Mar of 1921, only to be forced to withdraw again in Oct of that year. He last attended during the fall semester of 1922.

He lived in the Phi Beta Sigma Chapter House, 1020 Colorado, during his time at K-State. During the early 1920s, he married Clara Lillian May, the younger sister of his Sigma brother, Ross Wesley May.

His daughter, Jean Frances, was born on 27 Sep 1924 in Holton, KS.

Howard Boydston died on 15 Feb 1930 in Topeka, KS, and was buried at Mount Auburn Cemetery.

According the 1930 census, Clara Lillian Boydston was divorced and living with her parents in Holton, KS, along with daughter Jean, age 5, and daughter Betty, who was five months old.
