Ulysses Sam Arnold was born on 15 Jun 1903 in Kansas, the son of William and Hettie Arnold. His parents were older, it being a second marriage for both of them. He was an only child, though he had at least two step-siblings. He graduated from Kansas City High School in 1920.
On 14 Sep 1920, he entered K-State, studying electrical engineering. He withdrew from school on Nov of 1922, but returned for the summer session of 1923 and attending through spring semester of 1924, when he left school for good.
He lived in the Phi Beta Sigma Chapter House, 1020 Colorado, through his entire time at K-State. He married Tina in 1928, and was working as a chemist in a soap factory in Kansas City, MO, in 1930.
On 06 Dec 1976, Ulysses S. Arnold and his wife, Aleta, paid off the mortgage on the property purchased in January 1964. That same day, they sold the property to the Niles Home for Children for the price of $1.
Ulysses Arnold died in Apr of 1978 in Aurora, CO. Aleta V. Arnold died on 25 Apr 1995 in Aurora, CO.
