Resources to Use at Hale Library

Majors at K-State

Library Catalog
Find books in Hale Library using the Library Catalog. Look for books with a location of Hale Library Stacks and with a status of Not Checked Out. To find your actual book in the library, you can use the stacks guide. Pick one up at the Help Desk on the 2nd floor or find one online.

Two search terms you might try in the catalog are vocation and career. Depending on the career that interests you, your books will be in different areas of the library. Here are a few call number areas you might want to browse:

  • HF5381-5386 - Vocational Guidance
  • RC1200-1245 - Sports Medicine / Personal Training
  • SF600-1100 - Veterinary Medicine
  • LB1775-1785 - Vocational guidance for teachers and school administrators

U.S. Government Websites

You can also use Google's U.S. Government search to find more government websites.

Websites

You can also find career information from professional organizations. Try Googling your area of interest. For example, try "teaching and career." Just make sure the sites you're finding are credible - it's good to stick with sites ending in .gov, .org, or .edu.
