English Short Title Catalogue
The English Short Title Catalogue describes material printed in Britain and its colonies, in any language, between 1473-1800. It also covers material printed anywhere in the world in the English language, between those dates. The aim of this database is to provide a comprehensive bibliography of the national printed output of the eighteenth century, and also to list the whereabouts of survivng copies, so that researchers can find out not only what was printed, but also where to consult it. It is compiled from the holdings of over 1,000 libraries from all over the world. It includes the former Eighteenth-Century Short Title Catalogue.
