A Guide to Locating SAE Standards, Publications, Transactions and Papers

Standards published by the Society for Automotive Engineers are contained in the SAE Handbook, which will be found in the Fiedler Engineering Library Reference Section at call number TL151 .S62.

Papers from conferences of the Society for Automotive Engineers are made available in a number of formats:

• Books in their Special Publications series
• SAE Transactions
• SAE Technical Paper Series
• Microfiche of the individual papers

K-State Libraries owns the microfiche of paper numbers 650000 through 983166 (1965-part of 1998.) Microfiche should be requested at the Microforms Unit on 3rd floor of Hale Library by the paper number (which may or may not be provided in the Compendex citation; Compendex is not consistent in providing the paper number in the citation.)

For example, SP 1366 contains papers 981438, 981439, 981440, 981451, 981452 and 981464, which should all be available in Hale Library on SAE microfiche.
