Accessibility in the Libraries

K-State Libraries and Information Technology Services offer accessibility services, software, equipment and services to ensure that all library users have equal access to the Libraries' resources and facilities.

Some of the Adaptive Technology software that can be found in Hale Library's InfoCommons includes:

  • ZoomText (PC computers)
  • On-screen Keyboard (PC computers)
  • Windows Magnifier (Dell computers)
  • Text to Speech (Mac computers)

The IT Help Desk in Hale Library room 214 has:

  • Dragon Naturally Speaking Dell laptop for checkout

The Media Development Center in Hale Library room 213 includes:

  • Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
  • Large-screen monitors
  • Large-format scanners
  • Print Magnification System
  • Video Magnification System

For students registered with the Student Access Center we can offer:

  • Extended book loan periods
  • Proxy borrowing
  • Retrieval of library material
